Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Rug
Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Rug
The highly sought after Persian Heriz Serapi, hailing from Northeast Persia, near the town of Tebriz and Serab. This carpet is a luscious, vivid detail, and has minimal wear or tear - an amazing example from the first half of the 20th Century. This is the king of carpets - the likes of which grace the halls of the White House and the finest homes in the world.
This rug is extremely durable, with stunning geometric patterns interlaced with a smattering of natural dyes, such as red, rust, indigo, saffrons, indigo + vine greens, and walnut. A piece for a lifetime, to be handed down to the next generation.
Almost perfect condition rug, with some slight discoloration on 1/4 of the carpet (an even line of sun exposure which has a beautiful patina) - nothing too dramatic, but shows its graceful age!
Origin: Northwest Persia/Iran, likely near the town of Serab, although the original creators are likely a mix of Iranian and Azerbaijanian.
