About the collection

The Rift Collection represents a private art collection representing both established and emerging artists, primarily originating from Africa and the United States.  The collection is focused on bringing awareness to the featured artists to better bridge the "rift" between the conventional art scene in the West and the exciting and influential art scene in Africa. 

Started in 2015, the collection is focused primarily on modern and contemporary painters and photographers from Africa, with special emphasis on artists originating from East Africa.  The collection also holds several prominent artists from the United States, many of whom tackle subject matter consistent with building global understanding and appreciation for art.
